Growing Up – Year 6 Plus

I’ve been thinking a lot about teenagers recently, being knee deep in parenting one myself, strike that, more like, up to my neck in it!

What a hugely tumultuous time it is for them and those around them, as they transform from children to young adults to fully-fledged grown ups.  It was with this in mind that I began a long-term photography project documenting a group of boys I’d known since they started primary school and some even before that.

I have been photographing them once a year for the past few years and will continue to do so until they reach 18 years old, and possibly beyond that…I’ll see how it goes!

I wanted to chart the gradual changes year on year. I wanted to document who they are now and who they will become.

My working title has been Year 6 but I probably need to come up with a new one. Any ideas?
